While this issue has been addressed publicly and largely remedied, there are now concerns in the cybersecurity community about the digital safeguards put in place to protect the private information of people who have signed up online, according to The Associated Press.
In a meeting with various members of the U.S. Health and Human Services Department, questions were posed to Chief Information Officer Frank Baitman about the level of security in place on Healthcare.gov. The U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill that asks the administration of President Barack Obama, the chief supporter of the Affordable Care Act, to update the public concerning the numbers of people, according to ZIP code, who have enrolled through the federal exchange.
At the same time, top government security officials involved with the healthcare rollout testified before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee that the most updated version of the healthcare website passed all security tests.
