A [fact sheet](https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/employer-tax-credits-for-employee-paid-leave-due-to-covid-19) and [“snapshot” document](https://home.treasury.gov/system/files/136/Paid-Leave-Credit-Snapshot.pdf) were published in conjunction with the President’s remarks about calling on employers to help their employees get vaccinated. Under the ARPA, eligible employers can take a tax credit against their share of Medicare tax to fund the cost of paid employee leave taken for COVID-19 related reasons, including to receive and recover from vaccinations. The tax credit limit is $511 per day and $5,110 total for paid sick leave, and $200 per day and $12,000 total for paid family leave. The credits are available from April 1-September 30, 2021. Employers can report their paid sick and family leave wages for each quarter on their federal employment tax return.
