CDC Updates COVID-19 Guidance

CDC Updates COVID-19 Guidance

1.5 minute read

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) stated that nearly the entire U.S. population has some COVID-19 immunity through vaccination, previous infection, or both. So, they have released new guidance, that ends or eases several key recommendations including social distancing, quarantining, and testing.

  • Social Distancing – People no longer need to stay at least six feet away from other people to risk virus exposure.
  • Quarantining – People exposed to the virus no longer need to quarantine at home, regardless of vaccination status. However, they should still wear a mask for 10 days and get tested on day five.
  • Testing – Routine testing for those without symptoms is no longer recommended. Contact tracing and testing should be limited to hospitals and high-risk group situations.

The CDC continues to recommend wearing a mask indoors in areas where the COVID-19 community level is high. And everyone should isolate from others for at least five days when they have COVID-19, regardless of their vaccination status.

Employers should continue to monitor updates and stay agile, as the pandemic can change at any time. Download the bulletin for more details.
