The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has authorized a second COVID-19 booster dose for people aged 50 and older and individuals who are immunocompromised. The new booster can be administered four months after the first booster dose.
In April, the FDA’s vaccine advisory committee will discuss the possibility of booster shots in other age groups as new coronavirus variants circulate.
Individuals should continue to monitor the FDA’s guidance for updates. Contact your health care provider to learn more about COVID-19 booster eligibility and vaccines in general.
