The Republican’s last-ditch effort to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has failed. They had until September 30 to fast-track a healthcare bill, needing 50 votes to pass and they could only afford to lose two votes. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell pulled the bill from voting consideration once a third Republican Senator announced they would vote no.
Senator Lindsey Graham said the Senate would revisit this bill in the future. For now, the Senate will move forward on other legislation including tax reform.
