If your health plan is self-funded, the deadline to pay your annual PCORI fees is July 31, 2019. You should use IRS Form 720 for reporting.

The PCORI (Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute) Fee is part of the Affordable Care Act, helping to fund research to help patients make more informed healthcare decisions. The fee is calculated based upon the average number of lives covered under the plan. It applies to policy or plan years ending on or after October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2019. The fee is $2.45 per covered life.

A reminder that PCORI fees do not apply for plan years ending on or after October 1, 2019. Therefore, for calendar years, the 2018 plan year is the last plan year that these fees will be effective.
