The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has endorsed a low-dose version of the Pfizer vaccine for children ages 5-11.
Parents can now seek vaccinations for their children immediately. The Food and Drug Administration had recently authorized COVID-19 vaccinations for kids but needed the CDC’s endorsement before the shots could become available.
The recommendation now makes it possible for most children and all teens to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Parents should speak with their children’s doctors about getting vaccinated.
Not only will these vaccinations help protect young children, but they will also protect others against the spread. Additionally, it may be a requirement for in-person learning for some school districts in 2022.
