Dr. Fauci, the top infectious-disease expert in the country, has declared the U.S. to be “out of the pandemic phase”. He went on to say that although we are still in the pandemic, the hospitalization and death levels are declining to a manageable point in the U.S.
As cases fall, the U.S. appears to be nearing a point of controlling the disease through targeting treatments and vaccinations. Much of the country has rescinded mask-wearing requirements. And officials have even stopped enforcing the federal mask mandate in transportation settings.
As the country transitions out of the most devastating part of the pandemic, employers should continue to enforce whatever COVID-19 prevention measures they deem fit for their workers.
