According to The Wall Street Journal, the push is being led by conservative Republicans who want GOP leaders, such as Speaker John Boehner, to come up with another healthcare law. The Republic Study Committee, a group made out of members of the House, met with GOP leaders on May 29 in a closed-door meeting about this issue, the Journal reported.  Politico noted the effort is being led by Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La., who wants an alternative bill to encourage competition in healthcare costs. The news source reported this isn't the first time Scalise has tried to get a vote scheduled, but he has grown concerned that time is running out for an ACA alterative from the GOP. "The American people can't afford to wait any longer for Congress to repeal and replace Obamacare," Scalise recently said, according to Politico.
