President Biden Encourages Employer Mandate Vaccines Before ETS

1.5 minute read

President Joe Biden has made an appeal to private organizations to start mandating COVID-19 vaccinations now instead of waiting for the emergency temporary standard (ETS). The ETS will require employers with 100 or more workers to mandate vaccinations or weekly COVID-19 testing as conditions of employment. The ETS should be released in the next several weeks.

According to President Biden, “There is no other way to beat the pandemic than to get the vast majority of the American people vaccinated.” Biden praised companies who have proactively implemented vaccine requirements among their workers, independent of federal rules. He encouraged other employers to do the same.

Employers with 100 or more employees should consider solidifying their positions on vaccinations. This includes determining whether they will be absolutely required or if weekly COVID-19 testing will suffice.
