The PCORI (Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute) Fee is part of the Affordable Care Act, helping to fund research to help patients make more informed healthcare decisions. The fee is calculated based upon the average number of lives covered under the plan. It applies to policy or plan years ending on or after October 1, 2017 but before October 1, 2018. The fee is $2.39 per covered life.
